Paula van Brummelen

Paula van Brummelen has been working as a design researcher at DXM - Design and Experimental Material Research (weißensee kunsthochschule berlin) since completing her master studies in textile and surface design at the weißensee kunsthochschule berlin as well as in art education at the Hochschule der Künste Bern. Her research focuses on one hand on the development of functional surfaces with integrated smart materials in an architectural context. On the other hand she ist investigating interaction possibilities with shape-changing surfaces and the influence of movement on the perception of materials. Since 2020 she is working on her PhD project Embedded Movement at the TU Berlin in the practice based doctoral program PEP - Programm Entwurfsbasierte Promotion.
