Welcome to the 17th Annual Conference of the German Society for Design Theory and Research (DGTF)
The conference is organized by the Cluster of Excellence »Matters of Activity. Image Space Material« Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin and will be conducted digitally from May 6th to May 8th via Zoom and wonder.me.
We will provide you the login data and additional information about the digital conference infrastructure after the ticket reservation via email prior to the conference.
The German Society for Design Theory and Research (DGTF) is a nonprofit organization, founded in 2003 to foster discussion, exchange and profiling of relevant design issues.
The DGTF is a German-speaking association explicitly addressing design research in Germany and abroad. Having more than 300 members mainly from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the DGTF connects and brings forward the discourse by activities such as conferences, publications, special interest groups, annual meetings and other public events.
»Material Trajectories. Designing with Care« will feature keynotes by Wolfgang Schäffner, Director Cluster of Excellence »Matters of Activity« / Department of Cultural History and Theory, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin on Thursday evening and by Anupama Kundoo, Potsdam School of Architecture, FH Potsdam / Anupama Kundoo architects on Friday evening.
Following the annual conference of the DGTF, the twenty-fourth colloquium "Design Promoviert" will take place online on 09 May Participation is free of charge. (︎︎︎www.design-promoviert.de)
The colloquium is an event for young design researchers and offers PhD students an opportunity to present their research topic among their peers.
