Léa Perraudin

Léa Perraudin is a media theorist and speculative material scholar. She works as postdoctoral Research Associate at the Cluster of Excellence »Matters of Activity. Image Space Material« at Humboldt University of Berlin. Her research interests include Media Ecology, New Materialism as well as Experimental Cultures in Media, Art and Design.
She has held research and teaching positions at the University of Cologne and the Münster School of Design and received fellowships from the Berkeley Center for New Media, UC Berkeley and Internationales Kolleg für Kulturtechnikforschung und Medienphilosophie (IKKM), Bauhaus-University Weimar.
After studying Cultural Anthropology, Philosophy and Media Culture Analysis, she obtained her PhD at the a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School for the Humanities Cologne in 2019 with a theoretical framework for the multiple (in-)tangibilities of the Anthropocene. In her habilitation, she brings forward a media theory of phase transitions by investigating the ties of material and metaphor through transience, flow and solidification of media.
