Dr.-Ing. Khashayar Razghandi is a scientist working at the intersection of Natural Sciences, Humanities and Design, between Max Planck institute of Colloids and Interfaces Biomaterial department and the Cluster of Excellence »Matters of Activity. Image Space Material«, Humboldt University of Berlin. Coming from a diverse educational background, and backed by a broad interdisciplinary work experience, his current research interests cover a broad range of Interdisciplinary projects under the themes of: Materials Activity, Materials Sustainability and Materials Design. 

His main concern is a scholarly engagement with concepts around Matter from science, design and philosophy perspectives. At the core of his work lies reflective hands-on approach to values and challenges of such interdisciplinary practices around Matter, Activity, Structure, Performativity, Function, Constraints, Sympoiesis amongst others. Part of his current role revolves around mediation and education of such practices at the level of projects, between scientists, designers and humanities, as well as at the institutional levels, bridging between the relevant Research and Design Institutes and Industries. Consequently, he has been engaged with various science-design projects within Cluster of Excellence Matters of Activity; Max Planck Institute MPIKG Biomaterials; Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin; Open Design Master Program HU Berlin & UBA Buenos Aires; Design in Tech accelerator DesignFarm Berlin; ENS Paris-Saclay & ENSCI-Les Ateliers Design Department.
