Jessica Bulling studied Product Design and Strategic Design at Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd, University of Applied Sciences. As part of her master thesis, she dealt with the topic of "vegetarianism and veganism - potentials for design", in particular with the material leather. The work resulted in a material concept made of plant skins for the substitution of leather and laid the foundation for the deepening of her work: Since 2019, she is a doctoral candidate at the TU Dresden/HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd and is working on the topic of "acceptance of ecological materials using the example of leather substitution". In addition, she is a lecturer, gives workshops and works as a freelance strategic designer.
